Permanent Orienteering Courses allow orienteers to train at their convenience in terrain similar to competitive events.

Permanent Orienteering Courses

Within the YHOA area there are several Permanent Orienteering Courses. These are usually provided by Local Government Authorities and often overseen by members of the local YHOA affiliated club. These POC's provide the opportunity for Wayfarers (non-competitive orienteers) and competitive orienteers to develop or practise their skills.

Map packs can usually be bought for a nominal fee from a local Tourist Information Centre or similar. A list of POC's follows, although YHOA cannot guarantee the current state of each course and local enquiries should be made regarding their status.
